Three-Body (Chinese TV adaptation), a review

Would I recommend Three-Body just to anyone? Probably not. This is a high-concept, hard science fiction drama. A rarity even on Western television, what more for Chinese TV. However, if you're patient enough to sit through a few slow patches, you will be highly rewarded.

2023 Top 5 Chinese dramas

This year was a fantastic CDrama year for me. I discovered great new actors, and laughed and cried watching them. So inspiring was this year that I began this blog and a podcast as a result. Here are my top 5 picks for the year.

Story of Kunning Palace review

If you could live your life again, would you choose differently? An empress gets a rare chance to rewrite history when she is reborn into her younger self.

The "it" drama of November, as usual I find myself sceptical of its popularity.

Wonderland of Love review

Li Ni, the grandson of the emperor, and Cui Lin, the only daughter of a general, engage in a battle of wits on the battlefield.

A fun historical romance that is overshadowed by the flashier Story of Kunning Palace, I consider this show superior in many ways.
